2002-05 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Lift Kit Installation Instructions

Procedure:

Lift truck up, and make sure it is safe by using jack stands or a 2-post lift that locks in place.

Remove torsion key adjusting bolt completely.

Using Ball Joint Remover, compress torsion key slightly so that you can remove the piece that the torsion key-adjusting bolt threaded into.

Remove tension on the Ball Joint Remover, allowing all tension to be relieved from torsion bar.

Slide torsion bar forward, allowing OEM torsion key to fall out.

A longer shock will need to be installed for this kit to work properly. We recommend a 2” longer than OEM shock. Install this shock before re-installing the torsion keys. Possible choices for shocks are: Dodge SVT part# OSG23279 or Bilstein part# B46-2129 Front, #BE5-2550-H1 Rear.

Install Truxxx torsion key and slide torsion bar back into position. IMPORTANT! Make sure Torsion Bar is extended at least ¼- ½ inch through the Torsion Key. Apply pressure with Ball Joint Remover to torsion key, and create enough clearance to reinsert the torsion key keeper that the torsion key-adjusting bolt threaded into.

Remove Ball Joint tool

Reinstall the torsion key-adjusting bolt, and adjust it to ¼” of bolt threads extend beyond torsion key keeper. IMPORTANT! – each ¼” of adjustment on the bolt equals 1” at the wheel. It is best to check ride height after this initial setting and adjust as needed

Adjust the headlights to compensate for the new vehicle ride height.
